Pedal 'n' Paddle information

[What to wear]
A change of shorts or trousers is appropriate for after seakayaking. Long trousers are a good idea if it is looking chilly outside. Shorts are fine on warm days. Sneakers or walking shoes are the most comfortable footwear for cycling, sports sandals or sneakers are best for seakayaking , you are not permitted to wear open-toed sandals or shoes with heels whilst cycling. Layers are the best way to go, t-shirt underneath, then long sleeve jumper and/or jacket. We can store your extra gear so bring it in a bag to access in between activities.

[What to bring]
Please leave your luggage safely in your vehicle or hotel. Island Cycle Tours cannot take responsibility for personal items left unattended by you. If you wish to bring a camera you will need to carry a backpack with it in. For safety and comfort do not bring handbags, we prefer you to bring small backpacks if you need a bag. Bring a towel to dry off if you like, a bottle of water and finally, wear sunglasses, they'll protect your eyes from the sun AND the wind.

[Provided for you]
Cycling: we provide a 21 or 24-speed mountain bike with front suspension. The bikes have flat pedals for most comfortable riding in sneakers. The seat post has a quick release system allowing the seat to move up or down ensuring the best fit on your bike. We ask for your height in advance so we can bring a bike that fits you. We have a range of bike sizes from adults x-small to x-large frames. These bikes fit people who are over 140cm in height. An adjustable helmet, gloves, warm fleece jacket and rain jacket are all provided in the tour price plus as a guest of Island Cycle Tours. Your guide will ride with you all the way from the summit into town, for larger groups there are more guides. We use a ratio of 1 guide per 5 guests. There are plenty of regrouping points along the way to cater for all speed levels.
Sea kayaking: a double sea kayak and paddle is provided, if you are a single traveller, you will share a double with anotherguest or a guide. Sea kayaking skirt, PFD (life jacket), waterproof kag and warm fleece jumper for underneath are also provided. All sea kayaks are adjustable for varying heights.

[Fitness level]
Cycling: if you've ridden a bike before, and can hang on and steer, then you'll be fine. You don't need to be fit to ride down the mountain. There's an opportunity for approximately 5km of fun off-road trail riding at the base of the mountain which includes some hills, but this is optional. Once you get off the mountain, the roads are mostly flat, in some cases there are some gentle inclines.
Sea kayaking: there is no fitness level required for this gentle paddle.
